Hi there! I'm Ayomide Gbadegesin.
I specialize in creatively leveraging data for innovative products, optimized operations, and sustainable growth.
Intro
I am a data professional who's currently an undergraduate at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria and based in Lagos, Nigeria.
As serious looking as my face might present itself, I'm actually quite jovial.
Over the last year, I've had the opportunity to work on various amazing projects with one of the project being featured on Zikoko,
I was also an assistant tutor at Chaste Intellect International School, teaching ICT and Data Processing to intellects of different ages and class.
In my spare time, I work on some pretty interesting projects and I write around topics related to data. You can find more on the projects I have worked on here.
My technology stack includes;
Writing complex queries to solve business problems in SQL.
Build insightful dashboards and reports in Tableau, Excel and Power BI.
Performing Exploratory Data Analysis.
Scripting in Python.
Cleaning, Transforming and Manipulating data on spreadsheets (Excel and Google sheets)
For fun, you'd usually find me doing one of the following things;
Playing mobile games. The looks on faces of people when they find out what level I am in Candy Crush or how good I am in CODM has be believing that I am a fairly decent gamer.
Reading random articles and stories that peak my interest.
Binge watching movies or series.
Taking long strolls at night.
Planning my next bucket list activity.
Projects
The Nigerian Election Story
In this project, I cover Nigeria’s political history in a 3-part data visualization series.
The first part gives an overview of Nigeria’s leaders since independence in 1960. It also highlights some significant events that occurred duirng that time.
The second part examines the electoral landscape to study trends and patterns in previous elections.
The third part is a projection for the 2023 election cycle. It seeks to chart a path to victory for each of the 3 major contestants in the 2023 election cycle.
I was scrolling randomly on X (formerly Twitter) when I came across this case study and I decided to attempt it.
The case study aims to analyse data on Mobile Money services and customer experiences in three Kenyan districts so as to provide key initial findings that will be discussed by a Specialist Advisory Board.
So I worked on this in two stages.
Stage one involved overall data exploration, cleaning and analysis
Stage two involved creating a Summary report addressing all the major key findings and recommendations where necessary.
This challenge is a hands-on learning experience that simulates real world scenarios.
There are 8 case studies and each case study is designed to cover different aspects of data analysis and SQL usage commonly encountered in professional settings.
I have endeavoured to solve each case study, documenting my approaches and solutions.
You can review my solution here and a detailed summary of my approach here.
